Our Mission
The PEI Counselling Association has been in existence for approximately 40 years. Members of our association are professional counselling therapists who work in a variety of settings.
The PEICA Regulation Working group successfully established regulating counselling therapy in PEI in August 2021. More information around regulation can be found on the College of Counselling Therapy website.
PEICA is affiliated with the national association, the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Members of this chapter obtain their CCC (Canadian Certified Counsellor) designation through the CCPA.
Members of the PEICA must be a CT with the CCT of PEI or a CCC with the CCPA.
These settings include schools, universities, colleges, hospitals, mental health agencies, rehabilitation facilities, career counselling centers, business, industry, correctional institutions, religious organizations, community services and private practice. Our members are masters-level professional counsellors with a variety of education backgrounds.
